Course: Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship
A motivated and capable learner, Anna is no stranger to tackling a challenge head on.
These are skills she demonstrated in abundance through the successful completion of her Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship at Cygnet Law.
Navigating the demands of the apprenticeship alongside personal challenges, including an unexpected diagnosis of autism and ADHD, has demonstrated her maturity, self-awareness and determination.
While initially finding the diagnosis difficult to process, she chose to channel her energy into researching what makes her different and ways that can be used to her advantage when it comes to working most effectively, even going on to create an employer-facing resource designed to enable employers to support neurodivergent apprentices and employees.
Now celebrating her achievements, Anna said: “Completing my End Point Assessment (EPA) with adjustments made a huge difference, I was able to take things at my own pace without the fear of judgement, and I have shocked myself with how well I have done.
“I hope my journey in my apprenticeship can inspire other neurodivergent individuals both diagnosed and undiagnosed to treat themselves with kindness and patience and to give something like this a chance to try and be the most successful version of themselves because I never believed I would be in the type of position I am in now. I hope to build on the newfound confidence from this apprenticeship and who knows, I may even believe I am capable of advocacy in the future.”
In addition to the core modules required for her apprenticeship, Anna went further by completing the optional family law examination to gain an additional certificate, driven by an ambition to succeed and build upon her skills in communicating complex issues with both colleagues and clients – all while also planning her wedding!
Anna’s tutor and mentor, Victoria Christie, operations manager and law lecturer at Innersummit, said: “Anna has shown resilience and dedication not just in learning but to herself. She had demonstrated the importance of taking time to reset and rebalance to become a better ‘you’ and this aided Anna to achieve the additional certificate and a Merit in her EPA.”
Alongside her legal studies, Anna has also played a key role in training colleagues on the firm’s new bundling system, showing time and time again that she is a team player who is passionate about continuous improvement. Through her openness and support for others she has encouraged a more inclusive and understanding workplace culture, benefitting Cygnet Law far beyond her roles and responsibilities.
The Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship is aimed at those who want to begin a career in the legal sector or those who are currently working in the sector who are looking to upskill. There are a variety of pathways from conveyancing to family practice and litigation.
