Course: Level 3 Team Leader

Achieving a distinction in his Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship was the perfect way to round off Sam’s 15-month apprenticeship journey with Innersummit, as part of his role as a Senior Research Scientist at a North-East based company.

New to line management, Sam decided to undertake an apprenticeship to develop new knowledge and skills, as well as build on strengths he already had.

Sam said: “Completing the qualification has helped me in many aspects of my job role – as well as learning theory I was also able to develop project management skills. I always got a real sense that what I was learning would be helpful to me in the future, building a solid foundation for my career.

“Throughout the programme I really benefited from the interactivity of sessions, allowing me apply tools in real time and get feedback from peers and tutors. It helped me to feel much more confident – there’s so much value in deeper insight and understanding.”

Describing his experience with Innersummit, Sam praised the great organisation and delivery at every stage, with all the learning feeling relevant. He said: “The teaching team always made sure I was comfortable with my progress – always on hand to offer support when required. We were encouraged to make mistakes in a risk-free teaching environment, which was extremely helpful to get to grips with what I was learning and applying it to my role.”

Joanne Pritchard, Apprenticeship Development Partner said: “An organised, positive, polite, professional and driven person, Sam approached his apprenticeship with the same tenacity, energy and enthusiasm he shows in his role. He continually immersed himself in the learning, took all feedback on board and is seeing tangible results in the workplace. His distinction was richly deserved, and it’s been a real pleasure watching his confidence grow.”

Sam would absolutely recommend this apprenticeship to others and said: “As someone new to line management and team leadership the apprenticeship was the perfect opportunity to make sure that I got into good habits early, developing new knowledge and skills that have helped me develop myself and others. I can’t wait to develop in my career from here.”

As of September 2026, Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship is no longer a funded government standard. Innersummit offers ideal alternatives in the form of Level 4 Quality Practitioner Apprenticeship and Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship, alongside various CMI accredited leadership qualifications.
